Kelly issues statement condemning Rahm, Rauner's uber cronyism

Everyone is invited for a "Beer with Bill" after the press conference at Kitty O'Sheas.

Chicago mayoral candidate William Kelly to issue statement condemning  Rahm, Rauner’s shady Uber cronyism

FRIDAY, JULY 25, 2014

WHAT: Mayoral candidate William Kelly will make a statement calling out the cronyism of Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Illinois GOP gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner in their support for the rideshare behemoth Uber.

Kelly will also discuss the convergence of the political right and left in their fight against the crony capitalist interests represented by Mayor Emanuel and his longtime pal, Bruce Rauner.

Here is an advance quote from Kelly’s statement: “We can no longer ignore the Uber cronyism of Bruce Rauner and Rahm Emanuel.  Uber has bought off politicians on the left and right to advance its private financial agenda and skirt every regulation on the cab industry.  Ari Emanuel’s early financial interest in Uber has now – with his brother, Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s help – resulted in a massive financial payday. Now Bruce Rauner has announced his support for Uber as well and has proven once again where his true interests are: not in helping the people of Chicago and Illinois but in continuing to line his friends’ pockets. Sadly, Rahm Emanuel and Bruce Rauner represent the 1% and only the 1%,” Kelly says.

WHEN: Friday, July 25, 2014, 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. (press conference begins at 5:00 p.m.). Media availability will be offered beginning at 4pm.

WHERE: Chicago Hilton & Towers720 S. Michigan Avenue3rd floor – Room PDR 3Chicago, Illinois
